review

Here's my review of the Singapore GP 2008 Formula 1 First Ever Night Race:

only 1 word can describe the Formula 1 First Ever Night Race...breathtaking...when i 1st arrived at the circuit on friday morning, i asked myself - "where the hell am i?" cos the roads around the Marina Bay area looked really different with all the barricades around the circuit...it feels as if i am not in Singapore but in actual fact, i have driven on dat roads many many times before...it just looked very different...and when the hell did they put up the barricades/grandstands and even managed to dig a tunnel to link the exclusive Paddocks Club from Republic Boulevard...?!?! when the first F1 practice session started on friday at 7pm, i get to see, feel, hear the power of an F1 car and it blew me away...the lights all around the circuit and the view of Singapore skyscrapers made it even better...and on sunday's race day, i was so totally not prepared for the flagged off at 8pm...the noise coming out from just one F1 car is deafening but still bearable for me...but with 20 F1 cars at the starting grid and the drivers revving their engines almost made my head exploded...and when all the red lights turned green, i thank god dat my head didnt explode cos the noise was sooooooooooooooooooooo loud and clever me, i didnt bring my ear plugs along...but, i was too awestruck to care whether i am going to go deaf or not...the race has everything dat every F1 fan wished to have...accidents? nelson piquet and kimi raikonnen...who says the drivers can't overtake? Lewis Hamilton did so many times...anybody expected Fernando Alonso to win? i didnt think so cos favourites were on Hamilton, Massa or Raikkonen but Alonso did the unexpected...this race certainly make Singapore look a little bigger on the world map...heh! The few downside of the events would be: the bumpy roads/tracks which made sparks when car drive on em...the toilets are pathetic...the organisers should have gotten a better makeshift toilets cos the one dat they have in the venue, the urinal looks like a sink! some blur sotong may not know which is which! the cost of the food? i cant complain much...but the most disappointing of all would be the cost of the merchandise...a cap can cost up to $70, a t-shirt $80, polo tee $120 and button up shirt? a whopping $200 !!! even a miniature F1 car cost $20 i think...i would love to get a Ferrari, Mclaren or even a BMW merchandise as a souvenier but it was WAY WAY WAY AWAY over my budget...so i had to settle with Torro Rosso and Red Bull polo tees(which i bought at Puma shop at Ngee Ann City instead)...but all in all, many2 thumbs up to all those people who make this happened successfully...i am so looking forward for next year's race and the one after dat and after dat...many2 years down the road, i always remember that I was part of the Formula 1 First Ever Night Race...I was there when all of that happened.

wow!

i had to work with an austrian guy who works directly under F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone...had to be a little on the ball, but the reward i get was priceless...got to meet the F1 supremo himself Mr Bernie Ecclestone, Ferrari boss Jean Todt(the boyfriend of former bond girl Michelle Yeoh), Ferrari Drivers Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikonnen, Mclaren driver Lewis Hamilton and a whole lot of the drivers and their pit crew members which i don recognise...and apparently, i think i gave the wrong direction to Fullerton from the Circuit to one of the Red Bull drivers...hah!

it's

make or break for Singapore hosting the first ever night race for the F1...if all goes well, its good for Singapore and it'll put us as a country dat every F1 driver looks forward to race on annually...but if sumthing were to go wrong and we(Singapore) fucks up, then i can foresee the F1 chief not extending the Singapore circuit's contract when they due in 2010 and it'll be such a shame cos millions of Europeans back home will also be watching! all eyes will be on Singapore for the next 3 days...but i have faith in Singapore...this is not the first time they are organising sumthing big of this scale...we hosted the IOC meeting, IMF meeting, annual National Day Parade and theres the Youth Olympic Games coming up and etc etc...so it should be alrite...but watever it is, i am proud dat i am involve in the FIRST EVER FORMULA 1 NIGHT RACE held in Singapore :-)

so cheers!

what the hell

is happening to the English Premier League?!?! Manchester City suddenly became the world's richest club, kevin keegan and alan curbishley resigning from their respective clubs due to management problems...football nowadays is more of a business and politics rather than a beautiful game...its not so beautiful anymore...and that new manchester city owner thinks he is playing football manager wanting to buy cristiano ronaldo, kaka, fernando torres, fabregas...crazy isnt it? i thought roman abramovich was bad but this man city owner is worse! and he thinks just by buying robinho, man city can break into the EPL big 4? no freaking way!
